PostHeaderIcon The Basics of Playing Racquetball

Like tennis, racquetball can be played in a game of “singles,” where two players face off head to head, or “doubles” where teams of two compete against each other. There is also a three person variation of the game which is called cutthroat and is played in a round robin tournament style.blond racket ball player 2

Tennis and racquetball have a lot in common, but although their rules and format are similar they require very different techniques and playing styles. Racquetball demands all of the agility, grace, speed, and strategy of tennis, but to be a great racquetball player you also need tremendous reserves of power.

Racquetball is in some ways a more brutal game than its refined cousin tennis, and a large part of becoming a master of racquetball is simply being able to hit the ball faster and harder than your opponent. Because power is such an important part of the game, racquetball strings and balls are created to allow the players to make the fastest and hardest shots that physics will allow.

The rules of racquetball are relatively simple. In racquetball, you and a partner take turns hitting a rubber ball in such a way that it bounces once on the floor in front of you, hits the front wall, and returns. As in most games, the primary objective in racquetball is to win the game by getting the most points. You win points by hitting the ball in such a way that your opponent can’t hit it back to you.

Points are only given to the serving side; the one that started the “rally,” or round, with the ball in hand. The most common end to a rally takes place when a player or team misses the ball twice, but there are several other ways for a rally to end. For example, if the ball touches a player’s body or clothing, the rally ends; or if the ball bounces more than once on the floor before being hit by a player. Most amateur games are played to fifteen points, but professional games usually stop at eleven. You win a racquetball match when you or your team win two games in a row.

Chicago, Illinois, USA
Chicago’s says that it has 15 different sports venues already shapely within the city and that it would build one new venue plus an athletics Village in order to patron the games. The city has also said it would build figure more temporary structures to help house the athletics games - places that would be scrapped and replaced by something else erst the games are over. The city has also guaranteed at least $750 Million toward the costs of the games and is hoping to raise $2 Billion in sponsorships for the games.

Madrid, Spain
Madrid certainly has the backing of its’ citizenry, but they hit problems with infrastructure. Many of the venues that would be needed for the Games are not yet shapely and they would need to complete everything in record time, making for a serious concern about the viability of their bid. One thing in their favor though is that unlike Chicago, the plans they hit drawn up do show them using the buildings of the athletics Village for other purposes erst the games are concluded.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio Rio has one thing going for it: They hit never hosted the athletics games and there has in fact never been an athletics games anywhere in South USA in the history of the games. This is a powerful emotional effort for them. That fact itself still may not be enough. They lack open transportation to get around the city and frankly, the 2014 World Cup module be held here so it’s not like international competitions never come.

Tokyo, Japan
Just 55 percent of the residents of this bustling metropolis support bringing the athletics to their town. In addition to that issue, while the money is there for the bids and no one is concerned about that, the open transportation situation in Tokyo leaves such to be desired. So who module patron the 2016 Olympics? At this point, it’s anyone’s guess.
