Tarpon Fishing and Fishing Charters
Tarpon is essentially the comparison fish to the northern Bass. The fights are relatively quite similar; however, the odds are that the Tarpon will certainly be considerably larger. The fight will be something to be remembered. Just ask any fisherman that has experienced these epic battles and they will certainly tell you that they are a tough and exciting fight. And, there are many Florida Tarpon fishing charters that cater to this. Many charters are catered directly to tourists who are visiting Florida and would like to take advantage of the situation.
The shear size possibilities of this large scaled silver fish are basically endless. They have been known to reach eight feet in length and weight over three hundred and fifty pounds. Therefore, this is a fish that many Bass fishermen have never had the opportunity fish for and they will relish the opportunity when it does come around. Many will jump at the chance of fishing in the open Atlantic Ocean for such a massive fish. Coincidentally, in May of two thousand and one, Captain Steve Kirkpatrick led Jim Holland Jr. one a record setting journey. Holland Jr. used a fly fishing pole to pull in a whopping two hundred and two pound fish. However, not everyone catches a fish this large but, this should at least give one an idea as to what they can expect.
Regardless, as Captain Kirkpatrick had, the many captains that offer these Tarpon Fishing charters know where to get the fish in Florida and these locations are a time honored tradition that has proven results time and time again. The tackle and pole is included in the charter and they, many times, will even bait your line as well as clean your catch.
